Description
The ADAM-4017+ from Advantech is a versatile 8-channel analog input module engineered for precision industrial data acquisition over RS-485 networks. This robust I/O module delivers 16-bit resolution across eight independently configurable differential input channels, supporting a comprehensive range of voltage and current measurements from ±150mV to ±10V and ±20mA current loops including industry-standard 4-20mA signals. The module features exceptional signal integrity with 20MΩ input impedance for voltage mode and 120Ω for current mode, complemented by outstanding noise rejection capabilities including 120dB common mode rejection and 100dB normal mode rejection at 50/60Hz. Industrial reliability is ensured through 3000VDC isolation voltage, ±35VDC overvoltage protection, and built-in TVS/ESD protection circuitry. Communication flexibility is provided via dual protocol support for ASCII commands and Modbus/RTU, enabling seamless integration with SCADA systems, PLCs, and industrial automation platforms. The integrated system and communication watchdog timers with 1.6-second timeout ensure continuous operation even in challenging conditions. Operating on unregulated 10-30VDC power input with just 1.2W consumption at 24VDC, the ADAM-4017+ is suitable for process control, environmental monitoring, building automation, and manufacturing applications where precise analog measurement is critical. The module operates reliably across -10 to 70°C temperature range and features plug-in terminal block connectors accepting 14-22 AWG wiring for straightforward installation.
