Description
The ADAM-250PN from Advantech is a versatile 16-channel configurable digital input/output remote I/O module engineered for demanding industrial automation environments requiring PROFINET, Modbus/TCP, and SNMP connectivity. This rugged IP67-rated device features M12 connectors supporting both screw lock and push-pull fast-locking connections according to IEC 61076-2-010 and IEC 61076-2-101 standards, enabling reliable cabinet-free installations in challenging conditions. The module provides IEC 61131-2 Type 3 sink-type digital inputs with configurable input delay filtering from 0.05ms to 20ms, while the source-type digital outputs deliver up to 0.5A per channel on US ports and 2A per channel on UA ports with short-circuit protection and configurable safety reactions to CPU STOP conditions. Two-port 100Base-T Ethernet connectivity with integrated switch enables efficient daisy chain network topologies, while the power daisy chain feature simplifies wiring in distributed I/O architectures. Comprehensive diagnostic capabilities monitor over-current, short to ground or power, wire-break conditions, and encoder supply status, supporting predictive maintenance strategies. The ADAM-250PN meets EN 50155 railway standards with IEC 61373 body mount class B vibration and shock compliance, making it suitable for rolling stock applications. EMC protection includes ESD up to ±15kV air discharge, EFT ±2kV, and surge ±1kV, ensuring reliable operation in electrically noisy industrial environments. The wide operating temperature range of -40 to 60°C, combined with resistance to dust, oil, and humidity, positions this module for outdoor installations, transportation systems, machine automation, and critical infrastructure applications where robust performance is essential.
