ADAM-4000 Series – RS-485 I/O Modules by Advantech

The ADAM-4000 Series by Advantech represents a comprehensive range of RS-485 I/O modules engineered for demanding industrial environments requiring reliable data acquisition and control. This product family includes three distinct modules tailored for different automation requirements. The ADAM-4055 provides 16 channels of isolated digital I/O with 8 inputs supporting both dry and wet contacts and 8 open collector outputs capable of driving loads up to 200mA at 40V, making it suitable for general purpose digital interfacing. The ADAM-4056SO delivers 12 channels of source type isolated digital outputs with 1A per channel capability, over current detection and protection, and exceptional 5000 VDC isolation for high-reliability switching applications. The ADAM-4080 offers 2 independent 32-bit counters with frequency measurement up to 50 kHz, programmable digital noise filtering, alarm comparators, and both isolated and non-isolated input modes for precision counting and frequency monitoring tasks. All modules in this series share common attributes including support for both ASCII command and Modbus/RTU protocols enabling seamless integration with SCADA systems and PLCs, unregulated 10 to 30 VDC power input for flexible deployment, system and communication watchdog timers for enhanced reliability, and FCC/CE certification.
