Description
The Kontron HARAKAN-F is a pre-integrated, pre-validated VPX rugged compact mission computer engineered for the most demanding modern defence programmes, offering a flexible architecture based on two 3U VPX plug-in card slots aligned with the SOSA Technical Standard to support CPU, GPU, switch, software-defined radio, and mixed-signal RF payloads within a single compact conduction-cooled or optionally air-cooled chassis. The system is available in two primary processor configurations: the HARAKAN-F2-2 with a 10-core Intel Xeon D-1848TER at 57W TDP delivering high-performance server-class compute for sensor fusion, C4ISR, and electronic warfare, and the HARAKAN-F2-3 with a 4-core Intel Core i7-1185GRE at 12–28W TDP for low-power SWaP-optimised vetronics and autonomous system applications. Both configurations carry 32 GB soldered DDR4 ECC memory, 256 GB internal SSD, and optional removable NVMe SSD from 1 TB to 4 TB with AES-256 hardware encryption on request. Standard I/O provides five GbE ports, two 10G Base-SR fibre ports, USB, RS-232/422/485 serial, configurable GPIO, and an optional DisplayPort video output, with optional SDI video input. Kontron SECLine security elements provide hardware root-of-trust with Trusted Boot, Secure Boot, and Vulnerability Watch, and NIST SP 800-88 aligned sanitisation is available on request. The CMON-Line health monitoring platform and Power-On Built-In Test complement the security suite. The IP65-rated aluminium chassis with MIL-DTL-38999-style connectors operates from -40°C to +71°C and meets MIL-STD-810 for thermal and mechanical qualification and MIL-STD-461 for EMC, with optional DO-160 qualification.
