Description
The Concurrent Technologies Huey (RC CS3/msd-00) is a 3-slot forced-air conduction-cooled 3U VPX rugged COTS system engineered to balance size, weight, power, and cost for size and weight-sensitive defence and aerospace deployments requiring powerful multi-slot payload capability. The three 1-inch pitch 3U VPX slots accept SOSA 14.2.16 aligned VITA 48.2 conduction-cooled RCR-series Type 1 cards, supporting CPU, GPU, Ethernet switch, and mixed-signal RF payload combinations to cover vetronics, C5ISR, signal intelligence, and electronic warfare use cases with maximum payload flexibility. The VPX backplane supports P0, P1, and P2/P2a connector configurations, with copper and optical I/O to MIL-38999 front panel connectors, and is compatible with VITA 66.x and 67.x aperture cards for RF and optical connectivity. The 300W AC-powered PSU accepts 90–260VAC at 47–400Hz, and the forced-air augmented conduction-cooled thermal scheme supports up to 250W total payload power dissipation. The fan assembly is housed externally for simplified maintenance access and wash-down capability without intrusion into the sealed VPX card environment, an important practical advantage for deployed system maintenance. The aluminium construction with available MIL-STD corrosion and chemical resistant paint or powder-coat finishes is designed to support MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461 environmental and EMC qualification. The system measures 267 x 280 x 153 mm and weighs 14 kg, with ATR tray mounting for standard airborne and ground vehicle rack integration.
