CP212 – 12-Port cPCI Managed Layer 2/3 Switch by VadaTech

The VadaTech CP212 is a 3U Compact PCI managed Layer 2 and Layer 3 Ethernet switch module, delivering 10 ports of 10/100/1000 GbE via front-panel RJ-45 connectors alongside two optional rear-facing ports via the P2 connector, providing up to 12 ports of managed Gigabit switching within a standard cPCI chassis. Note that the module occupies two physical slots in the chassis due to the space required by its front-panel RJ-45 array. The CP212 supports a rich set of Layer 2 features including IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, 802.1ag connectivity fault management, 802.1w rapid spanning tree, 802.1s multiple spanning tree, IGMP v3, MLDv2, link aggregation groups, up to 16K MAC address entries, and Q-in-Q packet classification via IEEE 802.1p and 802.1ad with jumbo frame support up to 10K. At Layer 3, the CP212 adds IPv4/6 routing, IP Multicast with MVR and MVR+, and policy-based routing, making it suitable for applications requiring both switched and routed network segments within a single cPCI slot. Management is provided through a comprehensive CLI and SNMP capabilities. Power consumption is approximately 6W. The module is available with or without the P2 rear connector, in commercial or industrial operating temperature grades, and with optional conformal coating in Humiseal 1A33 polyurethane or 1B31 acrylic for high-humidity or condensation-prone environments.
