SOM-DH5000 – COM-HPC Server Development Board by Advantech

The SOM-DH5000 from Advantech is a comprehensive development board engineered for evaluating and developing applications using COM-HPC Server pinout modules. This PICMG-compliant platform supports both COM-HPC Size D measuring 160x160mm and Size E measuring 200x160mm modules, providing flexibility for various server-class embedded computing projects. The board offers extensive PCIe expansion capabilities including one PCIe x16 slot, two PCIe x8 slots, and six PCIe x4 slots, along with two M.2 M Key slots for high-speed storage expansion. The integrated AST2500 Baseboard Management Controller delivers essential server management features including a 2D graphics controller operating at 266MHz with 1GB DDR4-1600 graphics memory, VGA output at 1920×1200 resolution, and dedicated network interface card for IPMI and iKVM remote management functionality. Network connectivity is comprehensive with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps plus super-speed Ethernet support up to 8 ports at 10G or 25G speeds through OCP mezzanine cards available in copper or fiber configurations. The I/O complement includes four USB 3.1 Gen2 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, two SATA 3.0 interfaces, two COM ports, 12 GPIO pins, and dual fan headers for thermal management. Power input supports both ATX and AT configurations with 12V main supply and 5V standby. Operating temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius for standard configurations. The board dimensions are 366x330mm in a proprietary form factor, featuring visible debug utilities including BIOS Port 80 and power state indicators for development convenience.
