Description
The Kontron K3931-N mITX is an industrial-grade Mini-ITX motherboard at 170 x 170 mm, based on the Intel Alder Lake N SoC platform and designed for 24/7 fanless continuous operation with an enhanced operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Processor options span the dual-core Intel Processor N50 at 6 W to the octa-core Intel Core i3 N305 at 15 W TDP, with Kontron’s cTDP feature enabling flexible TDP reduction down to 6 W. A single DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM socket supports up to 32 GB of non-ECC memory. Intel UHD Gen12 graphics with up to 32 execution units and Xe architecture drives up to three independent displays simultaneously via up to three DisplayPort V1.4a outputs, one embedded DisplayPort at 4K, and one dual-channel 24-bit LVDS output, making it particularly capable for multi-screen industrial HMI applications requiring both modern and embedded legacy panel interfaces. Dual Ethernet includes a Realtek 1 GbE port and an Intel I226LM 2.5 GbE port with TSN support and Wake-on-LAN for time-sensitive industrial networking. Serial I/O is extensive with four RS-232 COM ports onboard, one of which additionally supports RS-422 and RS-485, plus one ccTalk port for gaming and vending machine applications. Storage is served by SATA III, M.2 Key-M for NVMe and SATA SSDs, M.2 Key-B for SATA SSDs, and M.2 Key-E for WLAN and Bluetooth with CNVi support. One PCIe x4 open slot provides card expansion. The wide-range 8–34 V DC lockable input with external and internal options suits mobile vehicle and harsh-environment power architectures.
