NA870 – 2U Dual Xeon Rackmount Network Appliance with up to 66 LAN by Axiomtek

The Axiomtek NA870 is a 2U rackmount network appliance platform built for the highest demands of network security, firewall, SD-WAN, and data centre edge server deployments requiring dual-processor compute power and extreme LAN port scalability. Accepting dual LGA4189 socket 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable Ice Lake-SP processors with 8 to 40 cores each and TDP up to 270W per CPU, the NA870 provides the raw compute density needed for deep packet inspection, encryption acceleration, and high-connection-count network processing. Twenty DDR4-3200 R-DIMM slots deliver up to 1280GB of registered memory, ensuring headroom for memory-intensive virtualised network functions and security appliance workloads. The NA870’s LAN architecture is built around eight hot-swappable NIC module bays — four per CPU in single-CPU mode, eight in dual-CPU mode — supporting 1GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, 40GbE, copper, fibre, and bypass module combinations for a maximum of 66 LAN ports. Intel Ethernet controller E810-based 100Gb Ethernet modules are also supported via the AX93357 and AX93358 options. PCIe 4.0 readiness and two optional PCIe x16 expansion slots via riser card allow further acceleration card or storage integration. Two hot-swappable 2.5-inch SATA bays and dual M.2 Key M slots cover storage needs, while onboard IPMI 2.0 via BMC AST2500 provides remote management capability. A 1300W 2U redundant power supply ensures high availability, and a 255-step watchdog timer adds software-controlled system resilience.
