The Hirschmann EAGLE40-072O6SCCC9HSRANFXX is a high-performance ruggedised industrial firewall from the EAGLE40 series, offering 7 Gigabit Ethernet ports — 5x RJ45 LAN and 2x SFP WAN — for deployments requiring higher port density and greater processing headroom than entry-level models. It is powered by an Intel Atom E3950 processor at 1.6GHz with 8GB DDR3L RAM and 64GB SSD storage, providing significantly more compute and storage capacity compared to smaller variants in the EAGLE40 range. Hardware-level encryption is supported by TPM 2.0. The IPSec VPN engine supports IKE v1/v2, AES-128/192/256, 3DES, X.509v3 certificates, NAT-T, PSK, and Hub-and-Spoke topology, making it suitable for multi-site industrial network security architectures. Routing capabilities include static and OSPFv2 dynamic routing, multinetting, 1-to-1 NAT, port forwarding, IP masquerading, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 VLAN routing. Security covers DoS prevention, role-based access control, LDAP authentication, management VLAN, ingress storm protection, transparent and routed firewall modes, and a firewall learning mode. VRRP with tracking framework provides gateway redundancy. Management is via HTTPS, SSH2/SFTP, SNMPv3, serial CLI, web interface, and Hirschmann tools including Industrial HiVision and HiView.
