The Hirschmann EAGLE40-031O6TCCZ9HSRANFXX is a ruggedised next-generation industrial firewall from the EAGLE40 series, designed to protect operational technology networks with stateful packet inspection and multipoint IPSec VPN in a compact DIN rail form factor. It provides 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports — 2x RJ45 LAN ports with Gen3 hardware bypass and 1x SFP WAN port — running at 10/100/1000Mbps, managed by an Intel Atom E3825 processor at 1.33GHz with 2GB DDR3L RAM and 4GB NAND Flash storage. Hardware encryption is secured by a TPM 2.0 trusted platform module. The IPSec VPN implementation supports IKE v1/v2, AES-128/192/256, 3DES, X.509v3 certificates, NAT-T, and Hub-and-Spoke topology for flexible secure connectivity between sites. Routing capabilities include static routing, OSPFv2, multinetting, 1-to-1 NAT, port forwarding, IP masquerading, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 VLAN routing. Security features encompass DoS prevention, role-based access control, LDAP authentication, management VLAN, ingress storm protection, audit trail, transparent stateless firewall, and a firewall learning mode to simplify initial rule creation. VRRP with tracking framework ensures gateway redundancy. Management is via HTTPS, SSHv2/SFTP, SNMPv3, CLI, web interface, and Hirschmann’s HiDiscovery, Industrial HiVision, and HiView tools. The rugged high-strength sheet metal housing in IP20 mounts on DIN rail, operates across -40 to +70°C with a cold start at -20°C, draws a maximum of 15W from a dual 20 to 54VDC supply, and carries CE, FCC, EN 61131, cUL61010, and ISA12.12.01 hazardous location approvals.
