Description
The Concurrent Technologies Rhea (VP ECx/msd) is a 6U VME single board computer built around Intel Atom x7000 Series processors, offering either a 4-core Intel Atom x7433RE at 1.5 GHz or a 2-core Intel Atom x7213RE at 2.0 GHz to balance compute performance and power consumption for long life-cycle embedded applications in defence, aerospace, and industrial sectors. Soldered 16 GB DDR4 DRAM at 3200 MT/s with in-band ECC provides error-correcting memory optimised for reliable operation in demanding environments without the risk of memory module unseating under vibration. Four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces via an Intel I350-AM4 controller offer two front panel RJ45 connections and two rear connections, one of which supports VITA 31.1 for Gigabit Ethernet over VME64x backplanes with 50V isolation via the P0 connector. Single or dual PMC/XMC mezzanine slots support front panel and rear VITA 35 I/O, with PMC sites accommodating 32/64-bit PCI at 33/66 MHz and 64-bit PCI-X at 100 MHz, and XMC sites supporting PCIe x1 Gen 1 through Gen 3, enabling broad mezzanine module compatibility for mission-specific I/O expansion. An M.2 on-board storage option, USB 3.2 front panel ports, DisplayPort graphics, RS-232/422/485 serial interfaces, GPIO, and stereo audio via P2 complete the interface set. TPM 2.0, dual SPI BIOS Flash, Secure Boot, and optional sanitisation utility software provide platform security. Environmental options span N-Series at 0°C to +70°C, E-Series at -25°C to +70°C, and K-Series at -40°C to +85°C with humidity sealant.
