Description
The VadaTech VTX880 is a 2U rack-mount OpenVPX chassis designed to house up to six 3U VPX payload slots in a horizontal configuration, making it a compact and versatile platform for engineers building multi-module embedded computing systems across defence, communications, and industrial sectors. The chassis is fully compliant with the ANSI/VITA 65 standard and accommodates modules with 0.8-inch, 0.85-inch, and 1.0-inch pitch, with the backplane configured in a six-slot star topology per VITA 46.0 baseline specification and VITA 46.10, supporting RTM connectivity to the rear. A dedicated switch and management slot is included in addition to the six payload slots. The VTX880 delivers right-to-left push/pull redundant cooling at 18 CFM per payload slot at 0.24 in-H2O at 5,000 feet, with removable front and rear fan trays and a front-mounted air filter for ease of maintenance. Power supply options include AC universal input at 800W or 1200W, and -48V DC at 650W or 1200W. An optional JTAG Switch Module provides JTAG access to each installed module, and an optional Chassis Manager supports VITA 46.11 with Tier-2 management and Virtual Probe capability. Backplane routing can be configured per the star topology or in a direct front-to-rear connection layout, and VadaTech can customise the backplane to meet specific customer requirements. Environmental options cover standard operating from -5°C to +55°C or extended from -40°C to +70°C. VadaTech holds ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D certifications.
