Concurrent introduces Hermes II for secure and high-performance VPX systems

Concurrent has announced Hermes II, a new 3U VPX processor designed to meet the requirements of secure, high-performance embedded systems in long lifecycle and mission-critical applications.

April 28, 2026

Hermes II is based on the latest Intel Core Ultra architecture and is aligned with SOSA standards, supporting high I O density and scalable system integration. The platform is developed with security as a core element, addressing increasing demands for data protection and system integrity.

A key feature is the integration of an FPGA-based Secure Enclave, enabling trusted separation of functions and support for advanced security mechanisms, including post-quantum cryptography. This reflects the growing need to prepare embedded systems for future threats to conventional encryption methods.

The processor also supports high-bandwidth data handling and real-time networking, making it suitable for applications such as sensor processing, edge AI, and secure communication systems.

Hermes II is designed for use in environments where performance, reliability, and long-term availability are critical.
