Kontron has announced the launch of the CERES-TSN, a rugged managed Ethernet switch designed for mission-critical defense networks requiring secure, deterministic, and high-bandwidth communication.
The platform combines Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), advanced security features, and high port density in a compact, fanless design suitable for deployment in demanding environments. Typical applications include combat vehicle networks, C4I/C4ISR systems, tactical communications, naval platforms, and data acquisition systems.
Supporting up to 28 fully managed Layer 2/3 ports, the CERES-TSN is designed to handle real-time data traffic with low latency and precise synchronization. Support for industry standards such as IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol and IEEE 802.1AS enables deterministic communication for applications including sensor fusion, high-resolution video streams, and threat detection systems.
Designed for harsh operating conditions, the switch features a rugged IP65-rated enclosure and compliance with military environmental and electromagnetic standards. The platform is developed and manufactured in Europe and is designed to support long lifecycle defense programs with extended product availability and support options.
