M-SFP-SX/LC EEC – Gigabit Multimode Fiber SFP Transceiver by Hirschmann, a Belden Brand

The Hirschmann M-SFP-SX/LC EEC is an extended-temperature Gigabit Ethernet fiberoptic SFP transceiver engineered for industrial network engineers who need reliable 1000 Mbit/s multimode fiber links in environments where both high bandwidth and temperature resilience are non-negotiable. Manufactured by Hirschmann, a Belden brand with a long heritage in industrial networking, the M-SFP-SX/LC EEC fits any standard SFP-slot switch or media converter and connects via an LC duplex connector operating at 850 nm. On 50/125 µm multimode fiber the module achieves link distances up to 550 m, and on 62.5/125 µm multimode fiber up to 275 m, covering the intra-building and inter-cabinet backbone distances common in large manufacturing plants, data centres with industrial edge requirements, and process automation facilities. The extended temperature operating range of -40 °C to +85 °C covers both storage and operation across the same range, making the module equally suitable for server room environments and outdoor-rated industrial enclosures in extreme climates. Power is drawn at 1 W from the host switch, and onboard diagnostics monitor optical input and output power as well as transceiver temperature to enable active network health monitoring.
