Combining an Ethernet switch with an HSR/PRP redundancy box (RedBox) in a convenient compact design, this device ensures continuous secure, reliable operations, even during power failures, thereby greatly diminishing the risk of data and revenue loss. IEEE 1588 function support enables the RUGGEDCOM RSG907R to combine precision timing and network communication data on one network, thereby reducing maintenance costs.
The Siemens RUGGEDCOM RSG907R can also be used to couple an HSR with a PRP or an RSTP network to operate on both types of redundant networks at the same time. Rugged rated to operate reliably in the harshest environmental conditions, the device provides maintenance-free operation for years at ambient temperatures ranging between –40 °C and 85 °C.
It comes with comprehensive approvals for a variety of markets, including IEC 61850-3, IEEE 1613 and IEC Ex. The RSG907R features the Rugged Operating System and universal power supply options.
It also offers an array of cybersecurity features:
- 7 port managed ethernet switch, IEEE 1588 compliant, supporting PRP/HSR
- 4 x SAN (singly attached node) fiber optic ports
- 2x RNA (redundant network access) and 1x coupler SFP ports
- –40°C to +85°C
- 24 VDC, 48 VDC or HI
Siemens RUGGEDCOM RSG907R & RSG909R switches terminating each HSR ring can be directly connected to RSTP networks via their coupling ports, see attach file below.
